Rabid Cat Found in Clay County
On June 16, 2010 a cat from Clay County Minnesota tested positive for the rabies virus at the North Dakota State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. The affected cat became aggressive towards other animals and bit one person. The Family of five that owned the cat is all undergoing rabies post-exposure prophylaxis. There are several other potentially exposed animals that also reside at this address and are currently being investigated.
Cat from Todd County Positive for Rabies Virus
The State of Minnesota saw its second case of a rabid domestic animal in June. This marks the fifth case this year of rabies in domestic animals. This case was a farm cat from Todd County that tested positive for the rabies virus on June 24, 2010. the cat exposed several family members, one of the family dogs, and may have exposed several other animals as well.

All animals upon entry of our clinic for either boarding or vaccine appointments are given a full physical examination. We feel this is an important step in the early detection of any health issues with your pet.
Each physical exam includes a check of the skin, heart, lungs, eyes, ears, lymphatic system, teeth, gums, musculoskeletal system, as well as the gastrointestinal and genitourinary system. Any concerns you may be having about your pet should be brought to the attention of our staff so we can better serve you and your animal.
